What this covers

SkillHack (skillhack.io) is a free platform for learning AI skills, solving graded challenges, and, only if you choose, being discovered by hiring companies. This page explains what we collect, what is public, and what is never public.

What we collect

• Account details. Your email address and sign-in provider (Google, GitHub, or email/password), and the display name you choose. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication; we never see them.
• Profile answers. Your job title, a description of your work, and your self-reported AI experience, if you provide them. These are private to your account and are used to personalise your course. Every question is skippable.
• Your resume, if you upload one. It is stored privately, parsed once to prefill your answers for you to review, and is never published or shown to companies without the consent described below.
• Your work on the platform. Answers, submissions, generated documents, scores, and attempt timing.
• Operational data. Error reports (via Sentry) and anti-abuse signals (Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise / Firebase App Check). We do not run advertising trackers.

What is public

Public rankings show a pseudonym with scores and ranks, or the display name you chose to publish instead. Your legal name and email address are never shown publicly, and your answers to the sign-up questions are never public.

Talent discovery is consent-only

Companies hiring on SkillHack can see your handle, scores, skill breakdown, and completed career paths only if you turn discoverability on, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings. Your name and email are shared only when a company asks to contact you and you accept.

AI grading

Your submitted answers are scored on our servers using Google's Gemini models. Submissions are sent to that service for grading only; we do not use your work to train models.

Where your data lives

SkillHack runs on Google Firebase (authentication, database, file storage, and hosting), primarily in the asia-southeast1 region. Error reports go to Sentry.

Cookies and local storage

We use browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember preferences such as your theme. There is no advertising or cross-site tracking.

Your choices

• Change your display name, discoverability, and resume at any time in the app.
• To delete your account and its data, email support@skillhack.io from the account's address.

Age

SkillHack is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
